About Paul Hruby Ice Arena
The Paul Hruby Ice Arena at Ridgeland Common provides Learn to Skate, Hockey, and Recreational Public Skating programs to the community. It is a seasonal rink in operation October through March.

In celebration of nearly 45 years of service on the ice for the Park District of Oak Park, Coach Paul Hruby was honored with the renaming of the Paul Hruby Ice Arena at Ridgeland Common in September of 2007.  Mr. Hruby has served as coach, rink manager, director of hockey and more since first starting to work at Ridgeland Common in 1963. He was also the first president of the Illinois Amateur Hockey Association, and he was a 2006 inductee into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame. But his most important role has been to inspire generations of youth and even adults to be involved in ice hockey. It was his dedication to the sport and the people playing it that led to a community-based effort to have the Ridgeland Common Ice Arena re-named in his honor.
