It’s summertime, and for many people that means spending more time outside. Whether it’s at the beach, a park or even just in your own backyard, it can be important to make sure you are taking precautions to protect yourself from any possible dangers out there! Check out these safety tips for staying safe this season.

1) Stick to well-lit areas of parks

It may seem like common sense, but many people walk through dark patches of parks without realizing how unsafe they are becoming. Make sure you stay on the trails so you can avoid anything dangerous lurking in those shadows.

2) Watch your belongings

People often leave their purses unattended when they go on walks around the park or play with their kids. It’s important to not take your eyes off of your things, especially when they are on the ground or in a park bench.

3) Make sure your kids are safe

Kids get distracted easily, especially when they see another child or even an animal. It’s important to make sure your children always have a buddy while playing in the park and that you know where they are at all times.

4) Check out the equipment

If you’re going to the park to play on the playground, take a few minutes and really look at it. Make sure there aren’t any sharp or splintered edges and that there is nothing stuck in between bars where someone could get caught.

5) Cleanliness matters

You have to be careful with the drinking fountain in your home, right? Well that goes for public parks too. Make sure you bring water and stay hydrated, but remember if it looks dirty or like someone else used it before you did, don’t take a chance of getting sick!

Dog Playground Surfaces

There are a few main surfaces that you’ll find at dog parks: concrete, artificial turf, wood chips, and sand. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of each:

Concrete is a popular surface for dog parks because it’s durable, relatively inexpensive to install, and easy to maintain. However, concrete can be hard on dogs’ paws if they aren’t used to walking or playing on it regularly. Dogs who are new to this type of park should start out with short play sessions and gradually build up their endurance.

Artificial turf is a newer type of surface that’s great for dogs who are new to the park, as it provides good traction without hurting paws or joints. It also doesn’t require much maintenance, but it can be costlier than concrete.

A conservatory is usually an exterior room with glass walls and a roof. It’s best to be located in an area of your yard that receives plenty of direct sunlight and fresh air all year round. Most handle to use it on a daily basis during the cold winter months if it’s well insulated and heated.

What is a conservatory built for? Most are used for residential purposes but some have been built in residential parks. In a park, a conservatory could be used for many things. It’s great for entertaining, education, dining and even a place to do housework such as painting. In the schools, a single-story school can use a single-story conservatory with attached dormitories.

There are a number of conservatories that have additional features such as: gypsum heating and air conditioning systems, double glazed windows, insulation, drainage system, state of the art lighting and high quality electrical wiring. They also come in different sizes, styles and colours to complement the property. They can be constructed in modular construction or stick built. The modular construction allows flexible designs to be incorporated into the conservatory plans. Most modular conservatories have already been tested and meet building regulations and codes. If a conservatory is to be stick built, it must be constructed within the current building regulations in your community.

The conservatory was originally built for the use of the French king Louis XIV. He used it to treat his household and guests and to entertain his court. Over time the conservatory was adapted for many uses including a winter home, a playhouse and a bedroom. Today the conservatory still serves these purposes although the main function remains a relaxation space during warmer months.

A conservatory can be classified as a listed building. The UK Regcurellation Authority (UK RA) has set a number of guidelines in order to ensure that listed buildings are safe to live in and to guarantee their safety. In the UK, a conservatory meets these guidelines by meeting the maximum external wall thickness at three metres and the internal wall thickness at four metres.

The conservatory may be classified as a single-story building if it has only one floor. It may also be classified as a double-storey building if it has more than one floor. The minimum height of single-story conservatories is three metres while that of double-storey conservatories is four metres. However, a Conservatory may have the appearance of a penthouse from the outside but it is usually an uninteresting single-story building.
