Over the years the Friends have funded a number of enhancements to the Conservatory including the docent education program that provides trained interpreters for school group tours and weekend visitors to the Conservatory.

In 2000 a new west wing was completed and funded in part by the Friends through a community-wide capital campaign. The Center provides improved public spaces for Conservatory programs and rental opportunities including a multi-purpose facility dedicated to Elvira Rubinstein, a FOPCON founder.

Currently, the Friends are creating an audio tour of the Conservatory supported by the Oak Park and River Forest Community Foundation and have double matched a State of Illinois grant to finance the renovation of the Conservatory’s Fern Room.

We have much more to do to ensure the future of the Conservatory and the educational programs FOPCON provides. We rely on ongoing donations and volunteer support. Please consider a tax-deductible gift today - and have an impact on all those who visit the Conservatory now and in the future.
