You can donate
a tree as a permanent
living memorial
to commemorate
a special person
or occasion through
the Park District
of Oak Park’s
Memorial Trust
program. A Memorial
Tree is a contribution
to the ecological
future and beauty
of Oak Park, as
well as a thoughtful
tribute. In 1970
the Park District
set up a Memorial
Trust Fund Committee
to receive bequests
from local residents
or organizations.
Gifts or memorials
will provide for
the planting of
a 2-inch diameter,
8 to 10 foot high
shade tree in the
park of your choice
(subject to space
availability).
The one-time fee
covers an engraved
bronze marker,
permanently installed
at the base of
the tree, and replacement
of the shade tree
if necessary. All
trees must be ordered
in February to
be planted in the
spring of the same
year. The Memorial
Trust Fund Committee
is also interested
in other features
such as benches,
walkways, statues,
etc. that could
be donated to recognize
a person, event
or occasion.
To schedule
a tour of existing
memorial trees

about this program,
