| Jamie Lapke, Gymnastics Manager |

Jamie began gymnastics at the age of 4 and competed for the
Chicago Park District’s recreational program from the
ages of 8 to 15. In 1991 she graduated from Northeastern Illinois
University with a degree in secondary physical education. While
doing her student teaching, Jamie took a job with the Chicago
Park District at Merrimac Park, where she worked full time
until 1994. At Merrimac, a large part of her work involved
teaching tumbling and gymnastics, and she developed a top ranking
competitive team for the park.
Jamie has always loved gymnastics and after college began working out at Avondale
Park, where she was a top performer for the
Level 5 competitive team. Subsequently, Jamie competed
in the USAG program through Level 9 and retired after competing at Level 9 Regional
Championships.
Jamie joined the gymnastics staff of the Park District of Oak Park in September,
1994. Jamie became the Program Director of OPGC in 2004. She is in charge of all programming and staff, teaches all levels and also serves as coach for the Girls Level 7/8 USAG team. Jamie is USAG Safety Certified,
CPR and First Aid certified, is a USAG Professional member, and is certified
as a PDP Level 1 coach and a KAT (preschool) instructor.
