Rehm Park Renovation Project - Phase 1

Project Information
After a five month planning process which included the collection of community input through focus groups, community meetings and online questionnaires, a site plan for Rehm Park was accepted by the Park Board at the Regular Park Board Meeting on Thursday, December 18, 2008.

Phase one of the Rehm Park Site Plan began in April 2009 with the construction of two sand volleyball courts and the addition of landscaping with a new garden area west of the Rehm Pool diving well. The new sand volleyball courts at Rehm Park are now open for your enjoyment. No reservations are needed. The courts are open for public use unless a Park District league or program is being held at the courts. Due to budget restraints, lights for the courts will be included in a future park renovation phase

Planned park improvements in future years, in addition to lights at the sand volleyball courts, include a new path on the northern end of the meadow just south of Rehm Pool and improved playground surfacing, train system and landscaping. The site plan calls for the eventual elimination of one tennis court, the single court north of the other two courts.  Currently all three courts are undersized and do not meet current USTA Safety Standards. The north court will eventually be eliminated when the asphalt sub-base of the tennis courts need to be replaced, estimated to be needed in the next 7 to 10 years. At that time, the Park District will construct two new courts which will be standard size and meet proper safety standards.
