100th Anniversary in 2012

The Park District of Oak Park is celebrating 100 years in 2012! We're planning for an exciting year filled with some amazing community events and activities. There are currently five major events planned - see details below!

Celebrate the Park District’s Birthday with a gift to the OPRF Food Pantry
Bring a donation for the Oak Park and River Forest Food Pantry to each event and help us aid hundreds of community members! At each Anniversary Event we’ll be accepting donations for the Food Pantry - check the event description to see what we're hoping to get at that event!

Egg Hunt 2012

Saturday, March 31 at Ridgeland Common

Picnic in the Park

Paul Hruby Ice Arena at Ridgeland Common
• Old-fashioned open skate with music provided by special guest Frank Pellico, Chicago Blackhawks organist
• Snow sculpture created by award-winning sculptor Peter Hermann

• 100th Anniversary cupcakes, hot chocolate and more while it lasts!
• Puck Shot Contest and other fun games
• A raffle for awesome prizes including Blackhawks tickets!!!

Only $1 Admission fee per person! Pay at the door.

(i.e., Rice-a-Roni, mac-n-cheese, ravioli, stews, soup, tuna, chicken, etc)

The Park District has a limited number of rental skates. It is not guaranteed that rental skates will be available if there is high attendance and a large volume of rentals. Skaters are encouraged to bring their own skates if they have them.
